Des Moines International Airport (DSM) is 4.8 miles southwest of the city, the capital of Iowa, and is a civilian-military airport. For 2017–21 it is referred to as a primary business service airport by the National Plan for Integrate Airport Systems. The 132nd Iowa Air National Guard Division serves the airport.
