Piarco airport is located on the island of Trinidad near the city of Port of Spain or 18 miles away. By the standards of the Caribbean it is quite a busy airport with several million passengers per year. It is a home base for the national airline Caribbean Airlines. This airline operates most flight routes. Mainly to destinations in the region such as the Caribbean and the northern part of South America. There are also flights, whether or not on a smaller scale, to the US, Canada, and Europe.

Piarco Airport has been around for more than 90 years. The first Piarco arrivals arrived in 1931. Many flights then went to Venezuela. During World War II, the airfield was used by the US Army Air Forces, US Navy, and the Royal Navy Observer School. Submarine patrol flights were carried out from here and for transport. A major leap forward brings us to a completely new terminal that was completed in 2001. This is the current Terminal North. The old terminal has become Terminal South. A decade later, after a study, it was decided to change the infrastructure. A business park was completed in 2013.

Piarca arrivals are at two different terminals, North and South terminal. The south terminal was used in the past to handle commercial flights. Since North Terminal has sufficient capacity on average 3 million passengers per year, North Terminal was given a different function. It was used as an executive terminal after renovation. These are therefore no ordinary passenger flights, but for helicopter, cargo, and training flights. The North Terminal has space for 29 aircraft.
