The airport is located in the northwest of Spain. After Bilbao Airport, it is the region’s busiest airport with 3 million passengers a year pre-corona time. It is a popular destination for the Spanish with some flights to other parts of Europe. Its history goes back to 1932 when it was planned to build an airport in the region. Construction was finally completed in 1937 to realize the first Santiago – Rosalía de Castro airport departures.

Bus and train: every half hour there are Santiago airport departures by bus to Plaza de Galicia in the city. The travel time to the city center is 30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased online or from the bus driver. If your final destination is Vigo, you can transfer to the train to Vigo at Santiago de Compostela train station.
