Almeria Airport is located in the south of Spain, between Malaga and Murcia. It’s also a port to different nearby places like Cabo de Gata, El Ejido, and Aguadulce. It is 15-20 minutes by car east of Almeria and 35 minutes by bus. There is just 1 small terminal and a runway of 10,500 feet long for all Almeria flight arrivals.
The first flights were already in 1932 in a Municipal Aerodrome. Before there was a real airport, we will go on for decades. It was only put into use in 1968 in the village of El Alquián. It is located right on the coast 12 km away from the city. In the first years there were mainly domestic flights. After that, a route was set up with a stopover at Valencia to Paris. Several changes have been made to the terminal in recent decades. A freight terminal has also been added.
