The Tangier Ibn Battuta International Airport in Morocco has been in operation with Tangier flight departures for several years, promoting tourism in the city. In previous years the airport had the name of Tanger-Boukhalef, but later it was changed to “Ibn Battouta” in honor of a Moroccan explorer. This airport served more than 1,3 million passengers in 2019, which would break a milestone in its facilities. The year 2020 brought actually less TNG airport departures to just 0,5 million passengers at the airport.
In 2008 the airport was remodeled, expanded its air operations, and improved its security system. For now, this airbase operates with 15 airlines and more than 20 Ibn Battouta flight departures to national and international destinations.
