Naha Airport is the main air terminal for passengers traveling to and from Okinawa in Japan. It is the seventh busiest airport in the country and is home to the Naha Air Force Base, Japan’s self-defense who also have Okinawa airport departures.
Naha Airport is located in Naha City, Okinawa. It processes around 150 Okinawa Naha departures a day, both nationally and internationally.
It handles international OKA airport departures to South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and Mainland China. It is located 4 km (2.5 miles) west of the city hall in Naha, Okinawa. The airport in 2014 was able to serve more than 17.5 million passengers and has had an increase in Okinawa departures of almost 3 million passengers in 2 years.
This airport has undergone significant projects to improve its infrastructure. In 2008, the government agreed to the national terminal’s expansion, which required the relocation of the international terminal and cargo facilities to increase the Okinawa flight departures.
There are four options you can use to get from Naha airport to the city or vice versa.
- Bus: There is a direct bus from Naha city to the airport and have your Naha flight departures, and they depart every hour; the trip can take about 10 minutes.
- Naha airport departures by cab: You can travel to and from the airport with the taxi service. You can find them in the departures area, and they can take you to the city center. The tour can last 5 minutes; it is the fastest way to get to the airport.
- OKA departures by renting a car: If you wish, you can rent a car and go to any town you want to know.
- Okinawa airport departures by train: There is a direct train, and they leave every 15 minutes, and the trip can last approximately 13 minutes.
Naha Airport has the following terminals to process Okinawa Naha departures: the domestic terminal, the LCCT terminal, the cargo terminal, and the new international terminal.
It was inaugurated in 1999 and replaced the old domestic terminal to handle a greater number of passengers for OKA airport departures.
It was inaugurated in 2012 and is a north annex of the domestic or national terminal to offer Okinawa departures.
In 2009, the old national terminal became the cargo terminal.
The new international terminal was inaugurated in 2014 to have Okinawa flight departures, and by 2016 it had an extension of 3,000 square meters.
