Jalan Raya Gusti Ngurah Rai Tuban, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung
IATA airport code: DPS
ICAO airport code: WADD
The airport on the Indonesian island of Bali has two terminals, for international and domestic flights. These terminals are next to each other, connected by a corridor with shops and eateries. Both terminals have recently been renovated to cope with the increasing number of passengers. Denpasar is the capital of Bali, but the airport is much closer to the popular tourist beach Kota Beach.
The airport is named after I Gusti Ngurah Rai, a commander of the Indonesian independence fighters in Bali. He was killed by the Dutch army in 1946 during the Indonesian War of Independence.
With the average green of 9 percent, Bali Airport is making good progress. In particular, many tourists know where to find the island with the many flights offered by different airlines. For example, in 2019 there were even more than 24 Bali Denpasar airport departures and arrivals. The plan is to reach the 38 million passengers to be carried by 2026.
