Chennai International Airport is located in the southeast of India. It is located in the southwest of the city of Chennai (Madras) at 45 min and 13 miles from the center. You can easily take the metro from Chennai airport to the center. The bus and train are also options, but less fast / easy. The taxi costs INR 500 and takes 50 minutes. Terminals at Chennai Airport

Arriving at Chennai there are 4 terminals. Terminal 1 is also called Kamaraj Terminal. This is for all domestic MAA departures. Terminal is the oldest terminal from 1954 and in use for all cargo flights. Terminal 3 is called Anna Terminal. It mainly for the international Chennai flights and terminal 4 for the the international Chennai Airport departures.

It is the third largest in India in terms of passenger volume. From April 2019 to March 2020, 22,266,722 passengers used the airport. That are 167,982 Chennai departures.
