About Santo Domingo Airport

The Santo Domingo Las Americas Airport (Aeropuerto Internacional Las Américas, or AILA) was inaugurated in 1959 with the first Santo Domingo departures. Since that date, it continues to be the city’s main airport. Its terminal has a record of more than 2.7 million passengers since 2008. The Santo Domingo Las Americas departures kept increasing since. This airport has only one airbase in operation since 2007 for Santo Domingo Airport departures. It has been rebuilt in 2009. Since then, it has become one of the few national airports to receive Airbus A380’s and have Santo Domingo departures for those big passenger airplanes. It is positioned as the best landing strip in the entire Caribbean and has the following characteristics:

Terminals at Santo Domingo Airport

AILA has two terminals known as terminal A/South terminal and terminal B/North terminal. The facilities consist of two parallel buildings that operate independently. Each of the terminals has its repertoire of exclusive services for passengers that have Santo Domingo flight departures.
