V. C. Bird Airport is located northeast of the capital Saint John’s on the island of Antigua. Antigua and Barbuda belong together. However, an international flight to Barbuda is difficult due to the small airport (Barbuda Codrington Airport). You will first have to fly to Antigua to get ANU departures to the island. However, there are ANU arrivals with large aircraft at V. C. Bird International Airport because the runway is 10,000 feet long. It is a popular destination among the American people.

There is also a Museum on Antigua and Barbuda which is located in a 260 year old court house. For one of the best views, climb Mount Obama. The altitude is at 1300 feet which gives you a fantastic view.
Are you totally into the animals? Then be sure to visit the Donkey Sanctuary with more than 150 donkeys. If you like snorkelling and relaxing, we recommend a tour at Antigua Nature Tours. You can snorkel in one of the best places, enjoy the beach, hike and also kayak. There are also many cozy bars with live music and local food. An example of this is at Shirley Heights.
Antigua airport ground transportation
It is a relatively small island and traveling by taxi is a popular option. There are two taxi companies that you can travel with. Those are Mill Reef Taxi and United Taxi Association. They are also waiting for you when you walk out of the arrivals hall.
The other main option for traveling on the island is to rent a car yourself. At the airport there are several car rental companies that offer different types of cars. In addition to the well-known Hertz, Avis and Budget, there are also a number of local companies where you can rent a car. These are, for example, NAJ Car Rental, Okaland and Capital Car Rental.
